Principal's Message

Dear TRE Family and Friends,

Thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality.  I feel at home at TRE and I feel very excited about the new school year!

Our faculty and staff  have been working diligently over the summer in preparation for the new school year. We had an inspiring professional learning institute in June and I feel grateful for their willingness in embracing the concepts found in Mindset: The New Psychology of Success; Motivating Students Who Don’t Care and Classroom Instruction that Works.  We will continue to study these books in our weekly professional learning sessions as well as in our faculty meetings.

Additionally, we added to our Star family. Please join me in welcoming Nicole Wiley (4th Grade); Kerry Moore (3rd Grade); Jenell Gardenhire (1st Grade); Sabrina Mitchell (5th Grade) and celebrating with Kamilia Fuller on her promotion to Bookkeeper at TRE.  I feel very confident that we have an awesome school team!

We will continue our focus on giving our best EFFORT everyday in every way as well as moving with our vision of becoming strong learners (academically and emotionally) and becoming a nationally recognized School of Excellence and a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School.

This year we will be implementing a uniformed master schedule; a school wide intervention block and a variety of activities to boost school culture and school morale such as the reinvention of our Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBSI) program as the STARS Alert program; school-wide after school detention; 5th Thursday Faculty Fellowship for present and past faculty and staff members; implementation of the Always going Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) Award for faculty and staff members; implementation of Teacher and Staff Member of the Quarter Award; continuation of Student and Most Improved Student of the Month with an added recognition service; and school-wide administrative, teachers and support staff sponsored clubs and club day on Fridays (1st and 4th).

We are doing all of these activities for one reason – the betterment of our students, our precious Star angels.  We love our students and want this school year to be their best one yet!

Additionally, we love our parents/guardians and our relationship with them.  Together, we will achieve our mission and our vision for TRE.

If you have suggestions, questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Our new AR program has over 100,000 quizes available.  If you have a book at home, look and see if it is an Accelereated Reader.  Find the quiz number and jot it down for quick access to your test.  Remember, AR quizes can only be taken at school.  As long as the title and author match, it does not matter if the book is a personal book or one from the school or public library!
